At Secure Swiss Data we believe that your privacy is an essential prerequisite of your civil liberties and human rights. No one should be allowed to snoop around your private thoughts, and no global advertising organization should be able to profit from data mining your communications. Privacy is not about having something to hide, it’s about the right to control what you want to share and what you want to keep to yourself.
To protect privacy online Secure Swiss Data team is providing end-to-end encryption services to individuals and businesses.
Secure Swiss Data system was designed with security in mind from day one. With no technical or legal restrictions, we have been able to produce a system without compromise and we are constantly improving it to protect users’ data and communication from the online threats they face nowadays.
Nowadays we communicate via email on a daily basis. As a result, our emails contain a lot of private information. If this information will be stolen it can lead to identity theft or other unwanted consequences.
What is more, mainstream “free” email service providers, scan your emails and collect information about what you have bought, when and where, where you go for holidays, what events you go to etc., and sell your data to third parties that use it to send you Ads or display them to you online.
If you use encrypted email provider, like Secure Swiss Data:
- It would be nearly to impossible for hackers to still your data and use it against you
- No one but the intended recipient can read or scan your emails, even we can’t read your emails, and you won’t be targeted with any ads.
You don’t have to because the end-to-end encryption is embedded into our systems, so encryption is done automatically. You just use the email app just like any other mainstream email app.
If the message gets intercepted, the only information that can be read is the time when email was sent or received and its size, nothing else.
If both users are Secure Swiss Data users, yes the subject will be encrypted, too.
No, we can’t access your data. The server hard disks don’t store data in plain format. All data is stored encrypted - we have ‘Zero-knowledge’ policy. We use cryptoloop (Linux kernel feature for creating encrypted devices) for data volume encryption.
Encryption all the way ensures that even in the case of a data breach the messages are secure and nobody except the sender and the recipient know their content.
If you use a local client to send mail via SecureSwissData.com, we can see your IP address and the desktop mail application you’ve been using.
However, the recipient will know from the email that you are a valid SecureSwissData.com user, but neither which software you’ve used nor from where you’ve sent the email.
Our data center is located in the former military bunker under 320 meter granite in the Swiss Alps.
Visitors access is strictly forbidden and the location is not exposed to the risks from an urban environment.
All data is stored encrypted on the servers, by using cryptoloop (a Linux kernel’s disk encryption module).
We use Transport Layer Security (TLS) - cryptographic protocols that provide communications security between servers and web browsers. TLS encrypts the data that you send and uses mechanism for detecting the change of information during the transit.
Thus, we make sure your entire traffic to our website is protected from MITM (Man in the Middle) attack.
We have DKIM (domain Keys Identified Mail) and SPF (sender policy framework) spam filtering mechanisms in place and are constantly working on improving anti-spam protection further.
No, .com domain is not controlled by the US government. All domain names are managed by non-governmental and non-profit organization ICANN. It has been freed from the US government control.
Irrelatively what domain you will choose out of 30 domains we offer (.ch, .eu, .net etc.) your data is protected by Swiss laws. It can NOT be accessed by the US or EU governments, as our servers are located in Switzerland.
Our data center is located right on one of Europe’s main backbone routes and that provides access to many international operators. It doesn’t have only one route, but many routes to different internet providers and it is dynamic. There are routes that go via most of continental Europe and some of them going to the United States will go via Iceland, Ireland and the UK.
However, even if the routes are monitored, the traffic from our servers is always encrypted and your messages will be secure.
- Your data is hosted in Switzerland
Your data is stored under 320m of granite in a Swiss mountain and protected by the world’s most robust privacy laws including the Swiss Federal Data Protection Act.
Switzerland takes data protection very seriously. Any access to data will always be subject to review and known.
- End-to-end encryption
All of your emails and features are secured with end-to-end encryption. This means we can never put you under surveillance or sell your data and profile details.
What is more, our “Zero-knowledge” ethos ensures all user data encrypted on the server. With your private encryption key you send the messages to the server encrypted. Because we don’t have access to your private encryption key, we can’t decrypt your messages, read them or scan for keywords.
- Advertisement free
We don’t track you for marketing purposes or collect any information about you, so you can be assured that you’ll see no Ads and your data will never be sold to any third party.
- Private by design
Secure Swiss Data system is designed with security in mind from day one and is secure by design.
You can use our Secure Mail App on your smartphone that has Android 5.0 and higher or iOS 10 and higher operating system, or our Webmail version on your Desktop. Your messages will be automatically synchronized on all your devices.
The maximum size that is allowed for attachments that you can send is 25 MB.
Our email communication does not include phone communication. Every email you send or receive goes over your internet connection so your device should be connected to a WiFi network or your mobile data connection.
So, SSD does not affect your SMS/Text mobile phone bill.
However, in order to use our services you need Internet connection. If you are planning to use data roaming abroad you need to first check with your provider whether you’ll be charged extra for internet traffic.

An encryption password is a string of characters that is used to encode and generate all the transactional information that is sent from your SSD account. This password turns your transactional information into an unread string of letters and numbers that make it impossible to be retracted if your mail gets intercepted. For security reasons, your encryption password needs to be entered every time you log into your SSD account.
Please NOTE, resetting an encryption password won’t allow you to read your previously sent and received encrypted emails.
